Overview of role within WJRC:
To employ research and EQUIP tools to design a benchmark "Model of Care" for joint replacement patients. The model will incorporate all facets of the clinical pathway including the pre-admission period and up to six weeks post surgery. Through ongoing multidisciplinary research and EQUIP activities, involvement in multi-centre trials, and through ongoing consultation with the WJRC Team, it is anticipated that the model of care will continue to evolve. The recent establishment of a comprehensive Joint Replacement Patient Database within the WJRC will facilitate long-term patient tracking. This, in turn, will enable monitoring of patient outcomes over an extended period.
